Clooney Drops From Guy From UNCLE
He will not star for Soderbergh.... Clooney ankles U. N. C. L. E. ! Blimey, came total Variety-speak there as it were. Sorry about this.... But apparently it's correct, a minimum of based on Deadline: George Clooney has made the decision to not star for old mucker Steven Soderbergh in the film version from the cult spy Television show. While he'd never quite been 100% confirmed, it had been expected the Cloonester would reunite together with his Solaris/Ocean's director for that movie, which Soderbergh still apparently expects to occur the sixties for any classic Bond feel, although having a likely lighter tone as suitable for the initial series. Now the director will have to get a new Napoleon Solo to star in addition to securing within an Illya Kuryakin to fight the evils of THRUSH (we recommend a powerful cream). Possibly Channing Tatum, who Soderbergh loved dealing with a lot on action thriller Haywire that he's made the decision to slot another film collaboration in line with the actor's idea (stripper pic Miracle Mike) into his schedule, might be along with a go, though he's likely too busy using the next G. I. Joe outing. Having a script by Contagion's Scott Z Burns, U. N. C. L. E. is presently still the following planned production relaxing in Soderbergh's diary, with Miracle Mike and Liberace looking for next, prior to the filmmaker retires as introduced. Or otherwise. There appears to become some debate on that front...
